Pain to Comfort Script by Ron Eslinger 5 (3)

By Ron Eslinger

After your induction:

With every breath that you take in allow yourself to relax more deeply and as you continue to focus on the sound of my voice you can also focus on getting a sense of control over yourself… your thoughts… your feelings… your body…

Let me remind you that what matters most right now is getting your thoughts together and and letting go of past events… and focus on a thought of  calmness and what changes in your life as comfortable becomes of who you are. There have been times in your life when yoiu were comfortable and it is OK to be comfortable now.  Only you can make that choice.

I wonder if you’ll decide to create this coolness throughout your body or if your decision will be to just allow yourself to be comfortably calm.  In all probability you will determine what you create and what you feel within your body.

One of the first things you can become aware of… is the fact that only you are aware at this time of what your comfort level is… but as I speak and as you create within your mind different thoughts and different images of how you want to feel… I would like you to appreciate the fact that through your thoughts you are in control of your mind and of your body.  Therefore, the more you focus your thoughts on my voice… the more you will have control over how comfortable you choose to be.

I wonder if you’ll be reminded of a time… a time in your past when you were aware… of how comfortable your body could be.  Perhaps even now you’re beginning to notice either heaviness or a lightness of your body… and I wonder just how you will experience the coolness and the calmness that I mentioned earlier.

I wonder if you have begun to notice yet… that your body is becoming more relaxed… and I wonder which is more relaxed your left side or your right side… your left side over there your right side over here… and that area which in the past was uncomfortable… is it there, is it here… is it close?  Is it far?

I can remember looking through binoculars and seeing how large things would become. I wonder if you noticed that when you think of that place of discomfort that it is like looking through binoculars.  It gets so big… so close… almost as if it is right up on you… yet… I wonder how surprised you will be when you discover that if you turn those binoculars around… how distant… how far away… how tiny… what you’re looking at becomes.

I wonder if you can imagine or just pretend… maybe even… role-play as if you are a child… turning the binoculars around looking through the big end and seeing how distant… how tiny that area of discomfort becomes when you look at it in a totally and completely different way.

I would like for you to imagine now that your feet are like vacuums… and they begin to suck up into your body… starting at the ankles and the lower part of your legs… then up into your knees… and into your thighs… every cell is filling with this cool orange colored magnetic liquid… now moving into your hips… into your pelvic area and into your abdomen… all the organs all the cells of your abdomen… and now it flows into your lungs and into your chest and I wonder how surprised you will be to discover how easily it is to breathe with your lungs filled with this cool orange colored magnetic liquid.

Now I know and I know that you know… that there are areas of your body that something warm would be more pleasing than coolness… therefore, it is OK to replace the coolness in those areas with a sense of warmth… that’s right… you’re doing so very well allowing every breath to continue to allow you to drift gently and peacefully into this wonderful state of hypnotic rest.

And now as the chest continues to feel that warm or cool orange colored liquid… that  magnetic liquid… it begins to flow over into your arms… from your fingertips all the way up to your shoulders… every cell, every vessel, every part of your body now from your neck down fills with this warm or cool orange colored liquid… this magnetic liquid.

I wonder what you will discover… as this cool orange colored magnetic liquid fills your head… all of your head… your ears… your eyes… your sinuses… and even your brain.

It may be that you are already aware… of how this coolness… of how this orange colored magnetic liquid… has already begun creating comfort and calmness.

I am sure that you are aware of what magnets do… and I think you’re going to enjoy being surprised to discover that it’s OK …to allow that magnetic orange liquid… to pull from every cell… the anxiety… the tension… and the discomforts that are located there… YOU… are worthy of allowing yourself the comfort that comes from letting this amazing orange colored magnetic liquid… this cool and soothing liquid… to pull from every cell of your body anxiety, tension and discomfort.

You have the right to be comfortable… allow every cell now to remember what normal feels like… I wonder how surprised you will be… when you think back to a time… a time in your past… when you can remember being able to do the things you like to do…

I wonder just what that thing may be… only you know if it’s a sport…a hobby or even your job.  It really doesn’t matter what it is … all that matters is that you allow your thoughts… allow your memories to focus on that time in your past.  I’ll give you a few moments now to focus on that time… that happy memory… that comfortable memory…

So that you can imprint that memory on every cell of your body and… and as you do so feel that cool or warm orange colored magnetic liquid which continues to pull from every cell… the anxiety… the tension… and the discomfort so that you can replace those uncomfortable memories with the memories of comfort… serenity…and  tranquility in every cell.

Do that now while I’m silent as you go deeper and deeper… (just a few moments of silences).

Wonderful… I am so proud of how well you’re doing… now allow your fingers and your toes to be like water faucets… open them up and allow that cool or warm orange colored magnetic

liquid to drain from your body… leaving behind cells that are restored with comfortable… relaxed… calm… and peaceful feelings.

Now each and every cell of your body knows what normal is. I wonder how surprised you are to discover how wonderful it feels to remember what normal is… what comfort is.

It is OK now to let go and to enjoy the fact that you have the right and that you are worthy of feeling your best.

It is OK to let go of guilt…just let it go.

Allow yourself to have forgiveness for yourself and others.

(And Continue with the suggestions for self-hypnosis at home and emerge now in whatever method you as the hypnotist prefer to use)

Emerge debrief and then:

Do second induction (Let this be a Self-Induction using the anchor from above)

This hypnosis induction as session will be short using the following:

×          Add Guided imagery to see self, as free and comfortable

×          Imagining a day with healthy eating and water drinking with comfortable physical activity

×          Metaphor – In the past you have seen this discomfort like looking through a pair of binoculars so close… so big… so in the way…Turn the binoculars around and look through the big ends. Isn’t it amazing at how far away…how small… how insignificant the discomfort is…  Now turn the binoculars around again and see how big the comfort is how wonderful you feel.

Discuss what will change in their life when their discomfort is 2-4 points less on average.

Teach second step in self-hypnosis and give them handout listed below.

Have them practice self-hypnosis while you complete paper work.

Nail Biting Question 0 (0)

Nail Biting Question
Question – What would you suggest for a 13 year old nail biter?
Sex would be nice – OOPs, what is the gender – need to know if boy or girl to develop metaphors and suggestions.  But here is a gender neutral idea. Convention.  Nail biting – start with mom and dad as always.  They are not to mention it to him in any way either positive of negative. It is no longer a topic.  It is nothing more than a habit he has developed so treat as any habit.  Use the Hammond introductory statements to say stuff like “I wonder how surprised you will be when you notice that your nails are growing and yoiu have to clip them.”.  You notice I did not use the term you no longer bite your nails.

Metaphor of grass growing and having to be cut, clipped, mowed.
You sucked your thumb and bit your nails when you were a kid, but you are no longer a kid yoiu have outgrown that nasty, dirty habit.  In some cultures at 12 you are considered a man.  You are a man and you are in control.
This should get you started.

Amazed & Amused – Turn Up the Tunes in the Operating
Room

Karyn Buxman, RN, MSN, CSP, CPAE

British researchers have found that patients listening to
Frank Sinatra during surgical procedures performed under local anesthesia
reported less anxiety, have lower respiratory rates and appear to heal faster
than patients having similar procedures in a music-free setting. The
small-scale study was published in the Annals of Royal College of Surgeons.

In 1984 I created my first tape for playing in the Operating Room specifically for
patients using earphones and putting the tape player on repeat.

I have, since then, created two intra-op CDs one for Moderate Sedation Patients and

one for General Anesthesia Patients.

The music was created by a CRNA using my specifications with a biorhythmic beat and

a hypnogogic Theta Tone to entrain the brain to create a very relaxed state.

My CDs have been used in 100’s of hospitals and by individuals to decrease
anxiety, pain, nausea and vomiting and time in the post anesthesia unit.

These CDs worked so well that I also added in the 80’s Preparing for Surgery and

Preparing for Dental CDS.  My latest is a 5 minute pre surgical stress reduction CD that can be listened to after the patient gets to the hospital in the waiting room and the holding area.

Research on my products done by the Navy and Air Force are positive for less nausea and vomiting, less pain and rapid recovery.

Ron:

I wanted to let you know I am doing a seminar for corporate group in
St. Petersburg, Russia. I am leaving Tuesday and will remain in St
Petersburg until January 29th. I received this invitation after holding
a Holiday Stress workshop in November for a group of only three
individuals who could not make the scheduled workshop. Of the three, one
was a visitor from the St. Petersburg area. All my accomodations have
been paid except for my visa for this three part workshop. From St
Petersburg, I am going to Shenzen, China to meet with an Eastern
Medicine Physician whose patient was another visitor in that same
workshop. Due to the Chinese New Year, her clinic will not be open, but
she is providing hotel and meal accommodations in addition to
compensation for three hypnosis sessions for a group. I arrive back in
the states on February 5th. For me, this is an exciting moment and yet a
little intimidating.

I have been following your outline and will bring this with me.

LETTING GO OF STRESS Part 2 0 (0)

11 Dec 2019 Stress

How do I know if I am stressed?

If you are:

  • Finger tapping
  • Compulsively eating
  • Biting your nails
  • Having repetitive thoughts

You might be stressed.

If you have increased your smoking, drinking or drug use you might be stressed.

If you are absent or being late for work then you might be stressed.

Prolonged Stress

Prolonged stress can result in:

  • Heart disease
  • Food cravings
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • PMS
  • Obesity
  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes
  • and multiple other conditions that are a direct result of uncontrolled stress.

The most stressful jobs:

  1. Teaching
  2. Nursing
  3. Management
  4. Other professionals
  5. Social workers
  6. Road transport
  7. Police and prison officers

On an average workday, an estimated one million workers do not make it to work due to stress.  “Health and Executive Magazine,” claims 6.5 million sick days are being taken every year as a result of stress.

Stress Reduction:

Stress affects blood pressure, sleep habits, positive exercise, nervousness, and confusion. Whenever our bodies are stressed – whether the stress is real or imagined – our brains respond as if it is real.

Stress, by the way, can come in many forms:  an impending deadline, an inability to complete work tasks, or even a verbal lashing from another person.  The body’s response is the same regardless of what causes the stress.

Ten Ways to Cut Down on Stress

  1.  Talk it out. Get support from family and friends.
  2.  Exercise regularly.
  3.  Avoid false guilt.
  4.  Set realistic goals and priorities.
  5.  Avoid perfectionism.
  6.  Keep a sense of humor.
  7.  Hang loose. Set aside idle time to relax every day.
  8.  Live by the calendar, not the stopwatch.
  9.  Avoid over indulging in drugs, alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine.
  10.  Think positively

Taking time out of a busy schedule to relax is very important.

Everyone experiences relaxation differently so the key is to relax as best you can.

The ability to relax is enhanced by finding a quiet place, creating positive self talk, listening to soft music, day dreaming, or taking a walk.

Try this simple breathing technique to relax and decrease stress.

Blow your stomach out like blowing up a balloon.  This will drop the diaphragm down and automatically create a deep breath.  More oxygen is able to enter into the two lower lobes of the lungs, which has more blood vessels to carry oxygen to the cells.

  Exercise

Exercise is the most widely recommended form of treatment for relieving the effects of stress and depression.  It increases endorphin release (the bodies natural morphine) along with melatonin (natural sleeping pill) and serotonin (natural Prozac) production, and helps level out blood glucose. Exercise helps us sleep better which also decreases stress.

Think Stress Control

Skipping breakfast is a bad idea.  Starting your day on an empty stomach results in DECREASED ATTENTION and POOR PERFORMANCE.  Even if your breakfast consists of something sweet or fatty, which is common, it can still help you get a better start on your workday.  It is also true that breakfast eaters are leaner, have lower blood pressure, eat less throughout the day, and are in better health than those who skip the most important meal of the day.

 In Conclusion

Stress responds well to meditation, Relaxation Therapy, Self-Hypnosis Exercise, a walk in nature, soft music, get 6-8 hours of sleep and a proper diet with the right vitamin and mineral supplements greatly decreases stress and enhance wellness.

How to Stop Worrying and Start Living 0 (0)

11 Dec 2019 Stress

In my many years of coaching, consulting and hypnotherapy, I found that most people live today as if it were yesterday. That worry is a negative hypnotic suggestion of something that the person has no control over. I am very surprised at how many people actually look for things to worry about.

Worry is simply a form of stress. Thomas Carlyle stated, “Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand.” Therefore, we can live and enjoy today without worrying about what we did in the past and concerns of what might happen in the future.

This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. This verse was found on a plaque on the desk of the renowned newscaster Lowell Thomas.

What does worry do to you? Many died from ulcers just because of worry. Worry decreases the effect of the immune system. Worry is known to cause high blood pressure and heart disease. Worry can cause panic attacks, anxiety attacks and depression.

What can you do to decrease or stop your worrying?

When you find that you’re tempted or started worrying about a problem write down the following four questions.

  1.  What is the problem?
  2.  What is the cause of the problem?
  3.  What are all possible solutions?
  4.  What is the best solution?

When you answer these questions you’re in a position to determine if the problem is worth worrying about or not.  If that problem is not in the present but is something from the past or something maybe in the future you can crowd out or dilute the worry by actively doing some of the things mentioned below.

A person can worry and be miserable or he can make the decision to change his current thinking. Changing your thinking will change the way the brain sends out signals to the body and which changes the worry behavior. There is a part of the brain called the limbic system which is that part of the mind that responses to your thoughts.  An example might be thinking of something sad that happened in the past, that thought will make you experience sadness again. The brain does not know the difference from a thought and what is actually happening. Thinking of something happy from the past will make you
happy.  Thinking about eating a lemon can create salivation and discomfort in your mouth. Thinking about something that’s exciting to do in the future will create excitement and anticipation. Most of these are very positive situations, however, worry or a negative thought creates biological changes in the body and it’s these changes that create ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, fibromyalgia and many other gastrointestinal and dermatological medical conditions.

You can take control of your health by controlling your worry. Abraham Lincoln said,“We are only as happy as we make up our mind to be.”  When we worry about something that is out of our control, we are wasting our thoughts, our time and our health.

What can you do to crowd out, dilute or diffuse worry? Simple, stop the thought and do things that you like to do with people you like to do them with and simply enjoying life. Smile, research says that a smile is just as effective if it’s fake as it is if real.   A smile, fake or real, boosts the immune system, changes our outlook and even affects those that are around us.

Other things you can do include listening to relaxing music, taking a walk with nature, eating, drinking, exercising, meditating, sleeping and playing in appropriate ways will increase the anti-stress hormones in your body such as endorphin, our natural morphine, serotonin  our natural Prozac and melatonin our natural Ambient.

Take control of your life, stop worrying and live.

Stress Kills – Take 5 and Survive 0 (0)

11 Dec 2019 Stress

Ron Eslinger www.HealthyVisions.com

Medical reports show that 80% of all illnesses that you go to the physician for are caused by stress and that all chronic pain syndromes have an 88% stress component. Stress is normal and has also been dubbed dire fight or flight response which is one of our protective mechanisms

The Random House Dictionary defines stress as, “physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension,” and, “a situation, occurrence, or factor causing this.” The word “stress” actually comes from a Latin word meaning, “distress.” There are two types of stress, positive stress, Eustress and negative stress, distress.

What is Eustress?

“Eustress” means stress with a positive effect. It was coined by psychologist Richard Lazarus in 1974. How can stress be positive, you ask? Think of the emotional strain caused by these positive events:

  • Winning a race
  •  Being a new parent
  •  Riding a rollercoaster
  • Watching a scary movie

In these situations, the physical, mental, or emotional strain actually produces positive emotions, rather than the negative emotions usually associated with stress. Without distress or eustress, life would be a pretty boring ride! However, in eustress when the positive event is over, stress hormones return to normal. Stress that kills can be from multiple events in our lives. Unlike eustress listed in the exciting things above, stress can be multiple negative events happening individually or negative events compounded on top of each other creating unhealthy physical, mental and emotional responses.

Only within the last few years has medicine reported the effects of stress and its association with cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, lupus migraines and a number of other illnesses. Irritability, anger and insomnia are other responses to stress.

“Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one”, Hans Selye. There are three “As” one can follow to handle stress; alter, avoid and accept.

1. ALTER the situation or your approach to it. a. Changing our perception. By changing the way we think about a given situation, changes the way we respond to it. b. Changing perception does not mean that the problem is not real, but rather that we are going to alter how the problem affects us. c. Perception is reality and is truth to the brain

2. AVOID the situation. a. If drinking coffee gives you indigestion, and causes you stress and embarrassment at work, don’t drink coffee! b. This A is all about identifying the things that you needlessly stress about, and how to remove those items from your life. Worry is a major stress component about something you have no control over.

3. ACCEPT the situation. a. Accepting the situation is appropriate when: b. The task must be done eventually c. Avoiding or altering it would cause undue stress to you or another person Each of these three methods include Creating a Stress-Reducing Lifestyle The foundation of a positive, low-stress lifestyle is made up of three building blocks: diet, sleep, and exercise.

No stress reduction program will be successful in the long term unless you have this solid foundation.

Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are – Chinese Proverb.

How often have you given this advice? “Just be yourself.” Change how you think about your situation which will change the body’s stress producing hormones to stress reducing hormones which will decrease your stress. There are a multitude of relaxation techniques one can use to help deal with stressful situations, life style and work. You can find free music, relaxation imagery, videos and articles

Stop Smoking Hypnosis Script by Ron Eslinger 5 (4)

This hypnosis script is to be used after induction:

smoking.. EVERY DAY you become SO DEEPLY interested in whatever you are doing
you do not think about cigarettes.

Your mind will become COMPLETELY DISTRACTED AWAY FROM YOURSELF of ever having been a smoker… you NO LONGER think nearly so much about yourself as a smoker, you quit, you had your last cigarette at ____(time)_____________today…you NO LONGER dwell nearly so much upon yourself and cigarettes your difficulties in the past with cigarettes and you are now MUCH LESS conscious of yourself as a smoker…

live longer, healthier and happier because you quit that filthy, nasty, stinky
poisonous habit… MUCH LESS easily upset.

You can insert the client’s personal needs and information into any script. However, simply reading a script is not as powerful and as successful as creating a script from the
client’s needs and beliefs.

Ron Eslinger offers a complete Smoking Cessation Workshop for Professionals to use in helping others stop smoking.

Or for those interested in quitting smoking using self hypnosis:

The Magnetic Fingers Convincer 0 (0)

Here is how to do Magnetic Fingers

Have the client clasp both hands together, making sure the palms touch.  The thumbs are crossed, and stick both index fingers up like goalpost.

Tell them to focus of the space between the fingers and focus on the space between the fingers only, as you repeat over and over your fingers are like magnets and coming together until they touch your fingers are magnets and they’re coming together until they touch.

In reality, the fingers automatically come together and you praise their success and how that simple concentration and focus allow the subconscious mind a truly believe the fingers were magnets.  However, the true purpose of this experience is to see if the fingers stay apart.

If they stay apart than the client is resistant, and that needs to be explored.

Learn these techniques and many more with my Hypnotic Tips and Techniques DVD

The Lemon Convincer 3.3 (4)

Here is a script I often use when doing the Lemon Convincer

If you don’t mind let your eyes gently close as you take in a nice abdominal breath.

Imagine or pretend that you’re at home in your kitchen.

Look around the room and pay attention to the sounds the sights and the light.

Listen for the hummm of the refrigerator…

Walk over to the refrigerator and as you do pay attention to your footsteps as you walk across the floor …you may or you may not hear your steps on the floor.

Open the door to the refrigerator… feel the cool air as it spills out onto your body.

Hear that hiss as the vacuum releases as you open the door… now today whether you normally have one or not today there’s a lemon in your refrigerator…

Look at the lemon… pay attention to its color as you reach in and take the lemon.

Notice the texture, the temperature, the size and the shape.  Now take the lemon over to a place where you would normally cut up fruits or vegetables…

Take out your favorite knife… now slice the lemon… you may slice it lengthwise from end to end or down the center.  If you sliced from end to end then make a second slice creating a wedge. If you sliced it down the center make another slice creating a ring and then cut the ring in half…

You may have noticed the juice as it oozes out on the cutting area … reach down and take either the wedge or the half ring and bring it up and smell the fragrance…you may notice memories being created…

Now open your mouth and take a big bite into that lemon.  Feel and taste the juice as it squirts on your teeth and on your tongue… experience the increased salivation and notice the tart and tangy feeling at the corners of your jaw.  Now swallow the lemon juice.

Open your eyes.  What did you notice? What did you experience?  What senses were stimulated?

Increased salivation was a biochemical, physiological response from a thought and every thought that you have creates some type of biochemical, physiological response in some part of your body.   What the mind possesses the body expresses.
